1. What is Nemo and Marlin’s environment?
Their environment is the ocean and the salt water habitat.

2. What is their habitat and niche?
Their habitat is the Great Barrier Reef. Their niche is the sea anemone.

3. What is the relationship between the clownfish and the anemone?
They have a symbiotic relationship. The anemone protects the clownfish using its stinging tentacles, which the clown fish are immune to. The clown fish protects the anemone by chasing away predators such as polyp-eating fish. The clown fish also fertilizes the anemone with its feces.

4. What is the significance of the East Australian Current to Marlin?
The EAC allows Marlin to travel to Sydney quicker. The current is a lot faster than the rest of the water in the ocean, and travels directly to Sydney.

5. How are sharks and clown fish different in their dentition?
Clown fish have very small teeth that aren’t so sharp, whereas sharks have many rows of teeth, they are large and sharp able to rip through prey easily.

6. List some differences between sea turtles and tortoises.
Tortoises live mainly in dry regions and are made for storing their own water supply. Tortoises only enter water to clean themselves. Tortoises are mostly herbivorous. Turtles live in or close to water and have adapted to swimming by holding their breath under water. Turtles swim by using their feet as fins.

7. What is the fishing strategy of the deep sea fish? What produces the light?
The deep see fish uses its light to lure in its prey. Through a chemical process known as bioluminescence this photophore can produce a green/blue light.

8. Why is tapping on a fish tank dangerous to the fish but not the plants?
It can cause stress to the fish which makes them prone to diseases which can end up killing them. It does not affect the plants as they are nonliving.

9. What do filters and aerators do in fish tanks, what happens in real life when they are switched off?...
